She Rocks!

I am woman hear me ROAR!!

The days of working lots of overtime to get mo’ money took its toll at times.

The newlywed phase didn’t last as long as I would have liked. The honeymoon doesn’t last forever.

Gaining 40+ pounds during pregnancy tried to hinder my self esteem.

Sleepless nights filled with crying, nursing, diaper changes, etc. felt like it would kill me at times.

Going from full time working mom to son’s activity chauffeur and play date planner was quite an adjustment.

Finding your Passion – honoring Harriett Tubman

One of the things I have been trying to find is my passion. Not just wife and motherhood, because that is a given and always my #1 priority. I’m talking about the kind of passion that motivates you to keep going no matter the reward or the risk.

As I tried to define this kind of passion, I am reminded of the great passion that Harriett Tubman had to have had when she traveled the underground railroad helping to free slaves. As we go into Women’s History Month, I have a few things I’d like to say about this woman and her passion.

Marriage – Living our Vows

Marriage – it’s about give and take, aka for better or for worse.

Marriage is full of joy and bliss! Kisses and hugs! AND some heartaches and pains.

First, let me tell you what you don’t want to hear so I can end on a positive note. That’s how I like to do.

For worse

I thought having a second adult in the house would be ideal for keeping things neat and tidy. Nope. Two totally different definitions and priorities. Some days when I see his dirty clothes laying on the floor beside the hamper I wanna take a lighter and burn them into flames. But I don’t. Not yet anyway.

You are with me so far, right? Great! Now I just need you to click here to read the rest of this post where I am featured in the Living Our Vows Series at Adventures of Team Pancakes

I am a BAD Mommy

I am the mother of one four year old boy. If you don’t have children this probably sounds pretty easy, right?

I. Don’t. Think. So.

And if you do have children you are probably already shaking your head because you know being a parent is tough. Of course it is worth it and I love my son dearly. I consider myself blessed to have a child. BUT let me tell you there are some days that I absolutely earn my “alleged” bad mommy title and you know what?

I feel good about it.

 Don’t judge me!

At least wait until you review the evidence here where I am featured at 4Badmommies.com

Take charge of your health

Listen to your healthcare providers but don’t be stupid!

It is important to communicate honestly with your physicians and follow their directions for caring for yourself. BUT it is also important to listen to your body. For example don’t do things that are making you worse. It could be a sign of another problem. If walking 30 minutes was prescribed but you find yourself getting chest pain, listen to your body and stop. Consult with your physician immediately.

Today I am so excited to be blogging about one of my favorite topics health. Yes, I know I don’t talk about it here. But you can read the rest of this post here where I am guest posting at Say What U Wanna.

Let your Light Shine

Some people aren’t naturally positive people. They just are not. No explanations needed.

Does that make them mean or negative?

No.

What about those who just “keep it real”?

Nope. Some of them are my closest friends and blog buddies too! They do keep it real. No sugar coating, just the facts and you know what? Some of their perceptions help me maintain a realistic view of life and my expectations.

Today I am guest posting at Positively Shining be sure to head on over to read the rest of this post. See you over there!
